About Mithu
Research Interest
Mithu is from Hoogly district, West Bengal but she is born and brought up in Uttar Pradesh. She did her schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya Gorakhpur. Then she completed her graduation from St. Andrew’s college, Gorakhpur in 2000. Mithu did her Master degree in biotechnology from Deen Dayal Upadhayay Gorakhpur University in 2002. Then she joined this group in April 2003 for carrying out her Ph.D research.
Mithu is currently working on oxidative stress mediated apoptosis of hepatocyte during malaria. She is trying to elucidate the pathway involved in the apoptosis of liver cells. Besides that Mithu is also working in cloning, overexpression and purification of some putative protein of plasmodium falciparum which can be used as drug target.
